Donation box disappears

Oswego police were notified at 11:30 a.m. May 20 that someone stole a donation box from the parking lot of a business in the 100 block of Douglas Road. Police said officers were told the donation box was taken sometime May 17. The donation box and its contents are valued in excess of $500, according to police.

Package believed stolen

Oswego police took a theft report at 10:29 a.m. May 17 at a residence in the 400 block of Bower Lane. Police said the victim told officers that Amazon left a package on his doorstep in April and it was missing by the time he got home. Police said the victim believes someone stole the package.

Speeding, license violations

Oswego police arrested Wesley S. Eldridge, 41, of Aurora, at 8:40 a.m. May 18 after stopping the vehicle he was driving on Old Post Road at Douglas Road. Police said Eldridge was cited for speeding and driving on a revoked license. The suspect was released at the scene pending a court appearance.

Two arrested after vehicle stopped

Oswego police ticketed Rico R. Hernandez, 25, of Aurora, at 8:25 a.m. May 17 on Old Post Road at Douglas Road. Police said Hernandez was cited for driving on a suspend license, speeding and no insurance. He posted bond at the scene and was released.

Police said a passenger in Hernandez’s vehicle, Chezeree L. Hernandez, 25, of Aurora, was arrested on an Aurora police warrant for failure to appear in court on a prior charge of driving while license suspended and a Kendall County warrant for driving while license suspended. Hernandez was transported to the County Jail, where she later posted bond and was released pending court proceedings.

Hit-and-run under investigation

Oswego police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that occurred at 6:50 p.m. April 19 on Van Buren Street. Police said the victim told them that an unidentified man struck her parked vehicle and then provided her with expired license information. The man then left the scene.

Apartment damaged

Oswego police took a report of damage done to an apartment at 12:49 p.m. May 14 in the 700 block of Oxbow Avenue. Police said the damage could have been done anytime during the past 30 days.

Television stolen

Oswego police are investigating the theft of a television at 11 p.m. May 15 from a residence in the 500 block of Springbrook Trail. Police said the television is valued at $50.

Burglary investigated

Oswego police are investigating the burglary of a residence that occurred at 6:36 p.m. May 15 in the 200 block of Springbrook Trail South. Property worth $600 was taken from the home, police said.

Television stolen

Oswego police took a report of a retail theft at 12:58 p.m. May 15 at a store in the 3000 block of Route 34. Police said a television valued at $179.99 was stolen and they have identified a suspect in the case.

Facing battery charge

Oswego police arrested Darius Carter, 29, of the 600 block of Briarcliff Road, Bolingbrook, at 6:09 p.m. May 20 at a residence on Manhattan Circle. Police said Carter was charged with domestic battery. The victim in the incident, a 32-year-old woman, was not injured, police said. Carter was transported to the Kendall County Jail in Yorkville pending court proceedings.

North Adams Street arrest

Oswego police arrested Miguel A. Salazar, 38, of the 100 block of North Adams Street at 11:35 a.m. May 15 at his residence on a warrant for failure to appear in court on a prior charge. Police said Salazar was transported to the County Jail pending court proceedings.
