A Woodstock woman remained at the McHenry County Jail on Wednesday evening in connection with a home invasion that sent one person to the hospital.

Woodstock police on Tuesday arrested 36-year-old Andrea L. Varnado, of the 1700 block of Havens Drive, on a $100,000 warrant. She would need to post $10,000 bail to be released.

Two additional men are wanted in connection with the home invasion that occurred Sunday in 1900 block of Sheila Street.

The alleged victims and suspects knew each other, and there is no threat to the public, Woodstock Deputy Police Chief Jeffrey Parsons said on Wednesday.

Warrants for both Varnado, 36, and Donley Carey, 34, both of the 1700 block of Havens Drive, and Jimmy D. Carey, 43, of Racine, Wisconsin, were issued Sunday, court records show.

Each is charged with home invasion and mob action. The most serious charge, home invasion, typically is punishable by up to 30 years in prison.

Donley Carey and Jimmy Carey face additional battery charges. They’re accused of punching and kicking the alleged victims multiple times, according to two separate criminal complaints.

The men are accused of entering the home and kicking and punching three people who were present at the time, according to criminal complaints filed in McHenry County court.

Varnado was charged with mob action because she “acted with two or more people who committed violent acts,” according to a criminal complaint.

One person was taken to Northwestern Medicine Hospital - Woodstock to be treated for injuries, Woodstock Fire Capt. Brendan Parker has said.

Bond is set $200,000 for Donley Carey and $150,000 for Jimmy Carey, court records show.

Varnado is due in court Thursday morning. A defense attorney has not yet filed an appearance on her case.
