A 36-year-old woman was arrested at the AMC movie theater in New Lenox for allegedly fighting with a woman who told her to keep quiet and fighting with other women as she was being escorted out, police said.
About 10 p.m. March 26, officers arrived at the AMC movie theater at 1320 W. Lincoln Highway after receiving a report of a fight that was in progress, said New Lenox Deputy Police Chief Louis Alessandrini.
When the officers arrived, they learned that Dalia Vega, 36, of the
3400 block of Brittany Drive, Joliet, was allegedly involved in an argument with her husband during a movie, police said.
When she was told by another woman watching the movie to be quiet, Vega allegedly began to physically fight the woman, police said.
Alessandrini said employees of the theater broke up the altercation and they escorted Vega and her husband out of the theater. However, another woman reportedly called Vega a “psychopath,” he said, and Vega then began fighting with that woman and her sister.
Vega allegedly struck both women in the face and pulled their hair before she could be stopped, Alessandrini said. She appeared to be highly intoxicated and she said she was “drinking during the movie,” he said.
Vega was arrested on a charge of battery and taken to the New Lenox Police Department for booking. She was released after posting bond.
