DIXON – Shopko’s remaining 120 stores, including Dixon’s, will close by June 16, the company said Monday.
The Wisconsin-based department store chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in January and previously announced plans to close more than 100 stores this year, including the Savanna location, 251 S. Fourth St., by May 5.
Bankruptcy documents filed today reported further closures, adding Dixon’s 1350 N. Galena Ave. location to the list, as well as the Freeport store.
“This is not the outcome that we had hoped for when we started our restructuring efforts,” Chief Executive Officer Russ Steinhorst said.
“We want to thank all of our teammates for their hard work and dedication during their time at Shopko.”
