Coal City resident joins DRC in Joliet

Rachel Mola of Coal City has joined the staff of the Disability Resource Center in Joliet as an independent living advocate.

Mola earned her bachelor’s degree in education at the University of St. Francis in Joliet and her master’s in education at the University of Phoenix.

For more than 10 years, Mola worked with children with special needs as an early childhood special education teacher, middle school special education teacher, and a home health care aide and home-school tutor.

At DRC, Mola assists individuals with disabilities in meeting their self-determined independent living goals, supports the community through individual and systemic advocacy efforts, provides information and referral services to individuals in need, and educates the community about disability awareness and etiquette.
