A Naperville man was initially arrested on probable cause of phone harassment and possession of a controlled substance, but no charges have been filed in court.
About 1 a.m. Tuesday, Naperville police arrested David C. Degeneffe, 19, of the 400 block of Glen Echo Road. Degeneffe was taken to the Will County jail and booked into custody.
Degeneffe was scheduled to appear for a hearing at the Will County Courthouse on Tuesday afternoon. He was released from jail about 5 p.m. Tuesday.
No criminal charge had been filed against him in court as of Wednesday.
Naperville police Cmdr. Mike Son declined to comment on specifics of the case. Son also declined to give details on the phone harassment charge and the drug charge. He would not identify what drug Degeneffe allegedly possessed.
Son said the listed charges were accurate, an arrest was made and Degeneffe was taken to jail.
He said an investigation into the case was still pending. He said he didn’t know if charges were pending against Degeneffe.
The phone harassment charge is a misdemeanor and the possession of a controlled substance charge is a felony, according to the county jail log.
Degeneffe was arrested at 6:41 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of Glen Echo Road, Son said.
