Dolphins 1st, Stingrays 2nd at Streator Y

Ottawa (1,196) placed first, Streator (492) second and Freeport (104) third in a triangular swim meet held at the Streator Family YMCA.

Triple winners on the day in individual events included: for the host Stingrays — Quinn Wilkinson (:39.13 in 10U 50 butterfly, 1:16.53 in 100 freestyle, :49.41 in 50 breaststroke); for the Ottawa Dolphins — Addisyn Budnick (1:46.18 in 8U 100 IM, :17.85 in 25 freestyle, :30.17 in 25 breaststroke); Kailey Goetsch (:34.26 in 12U 50 freestyle, 1:16.65 in 100 freestyle, 1:39.32 in 100 breaststroke); Paige Marks (:31.25 in 14U 50 freestyle, 1:09.45 in 100 freestyle, 1:21.78 in 100 breaststroke); and Joe Ovanic (2:16.42 in 14U 200 IM, :57.66 in 100 butterfly, 1:11.70 in 100 breaststroke).

Adding single individual victories were: for Streator — Emilee Brenbarger (1:37.91 in 10U 100 IM); Landon Sawin (2:05.74 in 12U 100 freestyle); and Tyler Wilkey (3:58.51 in 12U 200 IM); and for the Dolphins — Peyton Bryson (1:32.29 in 14U 100 butterfly); Marissa Daw (1:26.10 in 14U 100 backstroke); Elle McGrath (:54.31 in 8U 50 freestyle); Reed McGrath (:36.24 in 10U 50 freestyle); Ryan Nelson (5:42.79 in 14U 500 freestyle); Jacob Ovanic (2:04.54 in 21U 200 freestyle); Owen Phillips (:59.41 in 14U 100 freestyle); and Kyle Szewczuk (1:09.52 in 21U 100 butterfly).

Wallace girls sweep Pontiac

Wallace's eighth- and seventh-grade girls hoops teams both bested Pontiac, with the 8s victorious 31-18 led by nine points apiece courtesy of Grace Carroll and Gianna Leigh as well as six points from Kendall Lowery. Wallace's 7s triumphed 44-17, paced by 15 points apiece from Lowery and Reese Burgwald, eight from Reagan Stoudt and six scored by Lilly Craig.

Central 5s defeat Channahon

Central's fifth-grade cagers edged Channahon 18-17, with Demarco Criss scoring six points while four points apiece were added by Adam Swanson and Hezekiah Joachim.

Rams split with Minooka

The seventh- and eighth-grade boys basketball teams from Shepherd won one and lost one against Minooka. The 7s fell 51-23 (Garrett Shymanski five points, Keevon Peterson (four); while the eighth-grade Rams won 54-49 (Levi Sheehan 25 points and five assists, Dillan Quatrano eight points, Branden Aguirre and Aiden Mucci six points apiece).
