A number of business groups and chambers, including the Illinois and U.S. Chambers of Commerce, are backing
Rep. Peter Roskam, R-Wheaton, in the
6th Congressional District race, according to a release from the congressman's campaign.

The release came the same day Roskam visited Douglas Automotive in Crystal Lake.

“Time and time again, Peter Roskam has delivered on the issues most important to Illinois’ job creators,” Illinois Chamber of Commerce President Todd Maisch said in a statement. “He is dedicated to growing businesses across the state and listens to what our businesses need to be successful and fights for them.”

Caroline Harris, vice president of tax policy and economic development for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, said in the release that Roskam has been endorsed on his proven track record in advancing pro-growth polices that fuel the economy and create jobs.

“Without his hard work, the new tax reform law would not have become a reality,” Harris said in the release. “He listens to workers and businesses, understands the issues that matter most to them and is a strong voice for them in Washington.”

Roskam said in a statement that he was honored to receive the endorsements of these groups.

“Incentivizing small businesses to build and grow in Illinois and the United States has always been a top priority of mine, and I regularly meet with business leaders to understand what they need to be successful,” Roskam said in the release.

Roskam will face Democrat Sean Casten of Downers Grove in the Nov. 6 election.
