Pamela S. Morton

1963-2018

SHERIDAN — Pamela Sue Morton, 55, of Sheridan, passed away Saturday, Oct. 13, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born June 16, 1963, in Sandwich, the daughter of Wayne and Madeline (Willis) Bagwill. She married John A. Morton on April 24, 1981, at United Congregational Church in Somonauk, where she was a member and served on numerous committees.

Pam was always very involved in her church: she was a member of the choir, a deacon, a moderator, a youth leader, she taught Sunday School, and so much more.

She had the Stage Coach shop in Northville. Pam was a cooking extraordinaire; she made countless cookies and wedding cakes. She was happiest digging in the dirt, making her garden beautiful or on the back of a horse. Pamela’s life’s work was service. Everything she did, she did quietly and humbly.

She is survived by her husband, John Allen, of Sheridan; her parents, Wayne and Madeline, of Sheridan; her children, John E. Morton, of DeKalb, and Heather (Michael) Heinrich, of Sycamore; three grandchildren, Charles, Winifred and Iris Mae; three sisters, Christina Tuttle, of Sheridan, Kim (Matt Adrian) Bagwill, of Joshua Tree, Calif., and Susan (Peter) Dell, of Sandwich; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorial service in Pamela’s honor will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at Union Congregational Church in Somonauk with the Rev. Theodore Engelsdorfer and the Rev. Charles Maney officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to noon and following the service at UCC in Somonauk.

Memorials may be directed to United Congregational Church of Somonauk or the charity of your choice.
