Three Montgomery students are 2018 recipients of $1,000 scholarships from The Montgomery Foundation.
Kaila Brugger, a graduate of Oswego High School, is attending Carthage College. Megan Kill, a graduate of Oswego High School, is attending Loyola University. Heather Marz, a graduate of Oswego High School, is attending Iowa State University.
Montgomery Foundation scholarships are awarded through an annual application process designed to recognize academic achievement, participation in extra-curricular activities, and community service within the Village of Montgomery.
The Montgomery Foundation will accept scholarship applications for 2019 from Jan. 1 through April 15. Visit TheMontgomeryFoundation.com for more information and an application form.
Other initiatives of the tax deductible 501(c)(3) charity include supporting Montgomery schools with grants to fund needed and otherwise unfunded programs. The foundation also sponsors and donates Little Free Library stations to promote family reading and literacy throughout the village.
In 2018, Rose E. Krug Elementary School, McDole Elementary School, Lakewood Creek Elementary School and Nicholson Elementary School each received $500 grants from the Montgomery Foundation.
