State police want to keep a truck and cash they seized in a drug bust last week.
Sergio Murillo, 44, Detroit, and Rondell J. Palmer, 45, Lathrup Village — a Detroit suburb — are both charged with possessing almost 11 pounds of cocaine with intent to deliver. They are in the La Salle County Jail, both needing $200,000 cash to make bond.
State police stopped an eastbound 2018 Freightliner driven by Murillo on Sept. 17 on Interstate 80 near La Salle. Police said they found cocaine in a toolbox in the truck's cargo area, as well as $16,000. Police filed court papers this week to keep the truck and money.
The next court hearings for Murillo and Palmer are Thursday, Oct. 4.
