Harvard man accused of stealing TVs, air conditioner from Walmart

Police arrested a Harvard man on felony retail theft charges Thursday after they said he stole two TVs and an air conditioning unit from a local Walmart.

Officers arrested Gary E. Reiher, 33, on a warrant stemming from a June 20 theft at the Walmart in Harvard, according to a criminal complaint. Reiher is accused of stealing two flat-screen TVs and an air conditioning unit valued at $512 total, the complaint stated.

Reiher, who has a previous retail theft conviction in McHenry County, records show, faces as many as five years in prison.

He was out on bond for a separate retail theft case when he was arrested Thursday. Those charges stem from an alleged February theft in which Reiher is accused of stealing a TV and a speaker system from the same Walmart, according to a complaint.

He remained at the McHenry County Jail on Thursday on a $50,000 bond and is due in court Monday.
