Channahon police spread laughs on National Hot Dog Day with Facebook video

The Channahon Police Department had a different take on celebrating National Hot Dog Day on Wednesday.

Deputy Chief Adam Bogart said he had the idea of creating a funny video to celebrate the informal holiday.

“It’s great to be able to engage with the community,” Bogart said. “If we can do it in a positive way and have fun with it, we do it.”

The video pokes fun at the ketchup-versus-mustard debate.

As of Thursday afternoon, the video posted on the department's official Facebook page had reached about 50,000 views.

“Police officers have a sense of humor, too; this is our way to have fun with the job,” Bogart said.
