A free bluegrass festival, called "Bluegrass on the Green," will feature more than 25 national and regional musicians next weekend at Breidert Green Park in downtown Frankfort.
The eighth annual event is nonprofit and family-friendly, according to a news release. There will be two stages, children’s activities tents, a picker’s tent and workshops.
Bands will perform 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. July 14 and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. July 15.
Among others, the lineup includes Jeff Austin Band, Balsam Range, Front Country, Chatham County Line, Kenny and Amanda Smith Band, The Jacob Joliff Band and Special Consensus.
Founding committee member Steve Haberichter said bluegrass is an American musical art form.
