Lockport Township Park District offering day trips

The Lockport Township Park District is offering a trip day trip for all ages to the San Filippo Estate in Barrington from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 12.

The San Filippo Estate is a private home known for its magnificent collections of beautifully restored antique music machines, phonographs, arcade and gambling machines, chandeliers, art glass, the world’s largest restored pipe organ, and the most spectacular salon carousel in existence.

Fee includes guided tour, pipe organ concert, lunch, a visit to the Fisher Nut Outlet and motor coach transportation departing from Prairie Bluff Golf Course, 19433 Renwick Road, Crest Hill.

The Lockport Township Park District is also offering a trip to Charlevoix, Petoskey, and Mackinaw Island in Northern Michigan on Aug. 20 to Aug. 24.

This motor coach tour includes two nights in Petoskey, two nights on Mackinaw Island, nine meals (four breakfasts, three lunches, two dinners), a visit to Lavender Hill Farm, guided tour of Petoskey area and Earl Young’s mushroom houses, guided tour of Charlevoix Castle/Farms, Shepler’s Ferry ride to Mackinaw Island, horse-drawn carriage guided tour of the island, and visit to Fort Mackinaw.
