Romeofest, the four-day annual festival in Romeoville, is planned for Aug. 2
to 5. The event is located at Deer Crossing Park at
1050 W. Romeo Road and Village Park at 900 W. Romeo Road.
There will be a number of events such as a men’s softball tournament, an adult bean bag tournament and the Romeofest talent show.
One of the main events is a Food Fest One-Mile Race Aug. 2 at Deer Crossing Park. Participants can pay to compete and will receive three fest food samples, beer, soda or water, a finisher award and an event T-shirt. The event will include a DJ kickoff party.
There also will be musical acts every day of the fest. These will include acts like Sixteen Candles, an ’80s cover band; Infinity, a classic rock cover band; Recycle the Day, a Motown to modern cover band; Too White Crew, a ’90s cover band; 7th Heaven; and the Hillbilly Rockstarz.
Food booths and a beverage garden will be open each day. There also will be fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Aug. 3, with the finale at 9:30 p.m. Aug. 5.
Mega passes, good for unlimited rides for all four days, will cost $45 in cash or $47 for credit or debit. They go on sale from July 5 to Aug. 1. They are only available to buy during business hours at the Romeoville Recreation Center.
Entrance fees to get into the carnival area are in effect from 5 p.m. until the festival closes each night. There are no charges to enter any other area of the fest. Kids ages 10 and younger, senior citizens ages 65 and older and mega-pass holders get in free.
Individuals ages 11 and older can get in for $5.
There will be shuttle bus service from the Carillon Club House, Grand Haven, Irene King Elementary, Kenneth Hermansen Elementary, RC Hill Elementary, Romeoville High School and Volunteer Park.
The service will be available from 6 p.m. until midnight Aug. 3 and 4, and from 5 to 10:30 p.m. Aug. 5.
