Lockport principal earns doctorate

John Greenan, an assistant principal at East Campus at Lockport Township High School, recently earned his education leadership with superintendent endorsement doctorate (Ed.D) from the University of St. Francis in Joliet.

Since July 1, Greenan has been the assistant principal for leadership, student and building operations.

Before being named assistant principals, Greenan served as a dean at East Campus. Since 2011, Greenan has helped oversee and enforce the attendance and discipline policies, as well as the Illinois School Code. He also was an LTHS social studies teacher from 2002 to 2011.

In addition to his teaching and dean duties, Greenan has served as an assistant coach for the varsity boys basketball team since 2006 and as the assistant athletic director for the 2010-2011 school year.

Greenan earned his Master of Science in educational leadership from the University of St. Francis and continued master’s level education in school guidance counseling at Lewis University.
