Families soon could have a new place to gather and play in Huntley.
The Village Board approved a proposal Thursday for a new moon bounce facility on Wolf Drive in a manufacturing district.
Mighty Moon Bounce LLC and First Midwest applied for a special use permit to operate the indoor bounce house facility at a 7,500-square-foot space at 10611 to 10615 Wolf Drive in a business park.
The facility will include up to six inflatable bounce houses, a party room, concession stand and arcade machines.
The owners plan to offer birthday party and special event options, as well as open jumps, team-building and fundraising events.
Birthday parties will consist of one hour of bounce time and one hour in the private party rooms, according to village documents. Pizza, cake and drinks will be provided from outside vendors when customers request it.
Proposed hours are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. There are 24 parking spaces directly in front of the business, documents show.
Similar operations in the business park include Huntley Gymnastics Academy, Center Stage Dance Academy, Huntley Cheer Association, CrossFit Huntley and Next Level Travel Baseball.
Huntley’s Plan Commission gave a unanimously positive recommendation for approval of the plan at its May 14 meeting.
The business will give parents a “safe, clean and interactive” environment to let their children play, owners Marina and Felipe Acevedo said.
“As owners of bounce houses, and parents to four children, we have participated in the planning and execution of not only birthday parties, but team activities such as carnivals and homecoming celebrations,” the owners said in a note to the board. “Safety and cleanliness are our main priorities.”
