GLEN ELLYN – A DuPage County judge has ruled a Wheaton man charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse in connection with the alleged abuse of a juvenile at HealthTrack Sports Wellness in Glen Ellyn can move to Florida while his case moves through the court system.
Judge Liam Brennan on May 4 ruled Gregory Dacanay, 42, of Wheaton can live with his mother after accepting a new job as an associate sales consultant for a Johnson & Johnson subsidiary. According to the order, he must submit to drug/alcohol testing on future court dates and is allowed to have supervised contact with his two children, which may be satisfied in the presence of his wife during the times he is in contact with his children. Dacanay is set to be arraigned June 8.
The Glen Ellyn Police Department was notified of the alleged sexual abuse of a juvenile at HealthTrack, 875 Roosevelt Road, police said. Because the victim was a juvenile, the investigation was transferred to the DuPage County Children’s Center.
The male victim was between 13 and 17 years old, according to court records.
The Children’s Center investigation led to Dacanay's arrest, according to the Police Department. Dacanay was an employee at HealthTrack at the time of the alleged incident, and his LinkedIn account states he had been a fitness director at HeathTrack since February 1998.
On April 20, Dacanay was charged by detectives from the Children’s Center with aggravated criminal sexual abuse. According to the criminal complaint, Dacanay allegedly placed his mouth on the genitalia of the victim.
