Crystal Lake woman faces marijuana possession, delivery charges

22-year-old remains in county jail on $25,000 bond

A 22-year-old Crystal Lake woman remained at the McHenry County Jail on Friday after police said they found her with at least 30 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Island Lake police arrested Sophia A. Uccardi of the 500 block of Darlington Lane on Wednesday. She is charged with possession of 30 to 500 grams of marijuana, manufacturing or delivering marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted, she could spend up to five years in prison.

Uccardi also was cited with driving an uninsured vehicle and driving on a suspended license, jail records show.

Island Lake police could not be reached to clarify how much marijuana Uccardi is believed to have had on her, or how they initially came in contact with the woman.

McHenry County Judge Joel Berg set Uccardi’s bond at $25,000.

She is scheduled to appear in court Monday.

In August, Uccardi entered a negotiated plea to a misdemeanor charge of obstructing identification. She was sentenced to one year of probation.

She also took a plea deal in June and received a year’s probation on a separate reckless conduct charge.

It was not clear how the most recent charges filed against her might affect the 2017 sentences.
