ALGONQUIN – Scorched Earth Brewing Co. received two awards, including Illinois Brewery of the Year, at the seventh annual New York International Beer Competition.

The competition featured more than 600 beers in 50-plus categories from
14 countries.

Additionally, a silver medal was awarded for The Bitter Chocolatier, a seasonal chocolate oatmeal imperial stout brewed with cocoa nibs from Woodstock’s Ethereal Confections.

The Bitter Chocolatier is available in limited quantities in Scorched Earth Brewing Co.’s tap room, as well as several local retailers, restaurants and bars.
