The sting was conducted Feb. 8. An underage participant attempted to buy alcohol at 19 locations, and 18 passed, according to a news release from the city.

Those that passed included 12 Handles Ale House, 7-Eleven, Betty’s Bistro, C D Liquors, Crest Hill Lanes, Crest Hill Shell, DK’s Wine and Spirit, Super Mercados El Guero Crest Hill, Elsie’s Place, Food 4 Less, Jackie’s Slots and Shots, JC Catchers Tap, Paddy’s Shell of Crest Hill, Speedway, Stella’s Place, Thortons and Walgreens. The only establishment that failed was Bada Brew, located at 802 Theodore St. The bartender was issued a citation for illegal sale of alcohol to a minor, and the bar was fined $750.
