Reuben D. Bilbrey

STERLING – Reuben D. Bilbrey 83, of Sterling, died Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Rock River Hospice & Home in Sterling.

Reuben was born Dec. 29, 1934, in Portia, Arkansas, the son of Reuben D. and Ruby (Brightwell) Bilbrey.

Survivors include his life partner, Julie Pratt of Sterling; one son, David (Robyn) Bilbrey of Acworth Georgia; two daughters, Susan (David) Metzler of Sterling and Peggy (Brad) Wetzell of Tampico; six grandchildren, Derek, Madelyn, Victoria, Jennifer, Alyson, and Kelsey (Codi) Bruns; two great-grandchildren, Ellie and Adalie; and three nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Bill Bilbrey; and one sister-in-law, Shirley Bilbrey.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation in Sterling. A graveside service with full military honors will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling, with David Schmitt of 16th Avenue Church of Christ officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Rock River Hospice and Home, Sterling.
