CRYSTAL LAKE – Seven full-time McHenry County College faculty members completed a three-year probationary period and recently received tenure status, meaning they have job security for the rest of their careers.
The college said students benefit from the depth of knowledge, teaching excellence, personal qualities and commitment to service the instructors bring to the college.
The newly tenured MCC faculty are psychology instructor Robin Deak of Lake in the Hills, culinary management instructor Tina Drzal of Lake in the Hills, mathematics instructor Anitha Korla of Crystal Lake, health information technology instructor Allison Minicz of Sleepy Hollow, business instructor Sherry Ridge of McHenry, photography instructor Justin Schmitz of Crystal Lake and early childhood education instructor Melissa Veljasevic of Huntley.
The instructors are evaluated in four major areas, including academic preparation, teaching effectiveness, contributions to the college community and participation in community service. They also prepared an extensive teaching portfolio.
