Stott Contracting of Morris sponsored the last Fill-the-Pantry of 2017 at We Care Grundy. It was the second time in the year that Stott Contracting had sponsored the program.
We Care relies on the support from local businesses like Stott Contracting to be able to provide services to Grundy County residents inneed.
"Stott Contracting is happy to give backto the community where we live and work," Jane Stott of Stott Contracting said in a press release, "It’s always leaves folks with a good feeling to help people in need. We are happy we can help.”
We Care receives two deliveries of food for itspantry from the Northern Illinois Food Bank each month. The NIFB is able toprovide food, cleaning, and personal hygiene products to food pantries at pricesthat are a fraction of the cost at grocery stores.
We Care also participates in NIFB’s Milk2MyPlate program, which delivers 40 gallons of fresh milk from Prairie Farms each week.
In addition to the food that We Care purchases with the donations, the food pantry also receives food that is provided forfree as part of the Emergency Food Program, and from local churches that participate in a year-round food drive.
We Care’s food pantry is open to any resident of Grundy County who earns an income of 200% of the federal poverty level or below.
We Care is a local nonprofit agency thatprovides emergency assistance to Grundy County residents in the form of food, clothing, emergency rent and utility assistance as well as Pathway of Hope, a strength-based program designed to help people break the cycle of crisis and poverty.
