JOLIET – A Joliet man was arrested after he allegedly became angry with a grocery store owner he had been arguing with and bashed out a glass window, police said.
On Tuesday evening, Shawn R. Easley, 28, of the 1400 block of Cecelia Avenue, was visiting a grocery store on McDonough Street when he allegedly got into a verbal argument with the owner, said Joliet Deputy Police Chief Ed Gregory.
The owner told police that Easley became upset following their argument and that he then allegedly punched the glass entry door to the store several times, Gregory said.
After several blows to the glass, the door broke, Gregory said.
Easley then walked out of the store and drove away, Gregory said.
A description of Easley's vehicle was provided to police officers, Gregory said, and an officer later noticed the car parked in the driveway of a home in the 300 block of South Des Plaines Street.
The officer then took Easley into custody.
The police did not say at whose home Easley parked his vehicle.
Easley was charged with criminal damage to property and was later released on his own recognizance.
Easley was scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 26.
