William Doty

MANLIUS — William P. Doty, 81, of Manlius passed away at 9:12 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017, at his home.

Bill was born April 13, 1936, in Mineral, the son of J. Henry and Anna (Taets) Doty. He married Carolyn Vols Sept. 16, 1961, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sheffield. She survives in Manlius.

Bill graduated from Manlius High School with the Class of 1954. He owned and operated Manlius Oil Co. Inc. for 57 years.

Bill was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Princeton.

Also surviving are four children, Mitchell (Lori) Doty of Manlius, Sheila (Marty) Sauer of Yorkville, Dana (Scott) Konneck of Sheffield and Bradley (Jenna) Doty of Sheffield; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two brothers, Robert (Donna) Doty of Manlius and Jerald (JoAnn) Doty of Tampico.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Mark Doty.

A memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13, at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Princeton with Father Daniel Gifford officiating. Burial of cremated remains will take place in St. Patrick Cemetery in Sheffield.

A rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Monday at the church.
