Drivers injured in 4-vehicle crash
OREGON – A Rockford woman involved in a rear-ender set off a chain reaction involving three other vehicles, sending herself and three people to the hospital, according to Ogle County deputies.
Autumn A. Bondi, 22, was southbound in the 8000 block of state Route 2 North about 3:45 p.m. when she failed to reduce speed and rear-ended a vehicle that had been stopped in a construction zone. That vehicle, driven by Bruce D. McCanse, 62, of Oregon was then pushed into vehicles driven by Heather K. Cardott, 37, of Rockford and Patricia L. Walters, 70, of Dixon.
Bondi and her two infant children were taken to Rockford Memorial Hospital, where Bondi was treated and released; the children’s conditions were unavailable Sunday.
McCanse was taken by Byron EMS to SwedishAmerican Hospital in Rockford, where his condition was unavailable Sunday.
Walters and Cardott both refused treatment at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
