Dixon Now Care office closing

KSB Physicians Immediate has bought Now Care

DIXON – KSB Physicians Immediate Care is buying – and closing – the Now Care clinic.

Saturday is the last day patients will be seen at the clinic at 841 N. Galena Ave., and from then on, they will be directed down the street to Physicians Immediate Care clinic at 1672 S. Galena Ave.

"This has been in the works for many months, and we finally came to an agreement a few weeks ago," said Dr. Gregory Grubb, Now Care medical director, who has been a physician in Dixon since 1993 and spent the past decade at the clinic.

"It is bittersweet. We are going to miss our patients and staff."

Physicians Immediate Care opened July 28, 2014, and the clinic is equipped with X-ray capability and lab testing. It has six exam rooms, including trauma, pediatric and drug screening rooms for treating non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses 7 days a week.

It also offers occupational medicine services to employers for treatment of work-related injuries, drug and alcohol testing, and a variety of work-related physical examinations.

“Our Dixon immediate care center allows us to provide medical care during extended hours and without an appointment for minor illnesses and injuries," KSB President/CEO Dave Schreiner said Thursday in a news release.

Physicians Immediate Care CEO Stan Blaylock said though they are closing Now Care, they have hired on some of the staff.

“You will be greeted by our dedicated team members who are committed to providing remarkable care you can count on,” he said. “You will also see some familiar Now Care faces that we are very pleased to have joined our team.”
