Frances Kay (Bohnert) Duro, 76, of Mt. Morris, died on Thursday Sept. 14, 2017 with her family at her side.
Kay was born on Dec. 10, 1940 in Chicago, the daughter of Franz and Henny (Boysen) Bohnert.
She graduated from Arlington High School, Arlington Heights.
She was an avid sportsman, but loved bowling, softball, and writing poetry.
Kay enjoyed watching the Bears, Cubs, Bulls, and White Sox in the last couple of years.
She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, always was there for her family, and never forgot milestones in her family’s lives.
Kay is survived by her children, Michael (Sally) Amtmann, of Flemington, New Jersey; John Amtmann, of Butte, Montana; Lainie Duro, of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Miles Eichholtz, Lukas Puckhaber, Aidan, Hannah, and Devin Amtmann, Monk and Cole Duro-Landry; and son-in-law, Jim Duke, of Byron.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kina Duke; and sister, Isa Rothery.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 5 p.m. at Finch Funeral Home, 405 E. Hitt St., Mt. Morris, with Rev. Michael Hoffman officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials will be determined.
