WOODSTOCK – A man was taken to the hospital via Flight for Life after a chainsaw injury left him stuck 40 feet above ground in a tree.
Woodstock Fire/Rescue District Capt. Brendan Parker said the department responded Wednesday to a house in the 13000 block of Hickory Lane after receiving a report of a man with a leg injury.
The man had been taking down the tree with a chainsaw and suffered an injury that left him unable to climb back down, Parker said.
The district’s ladder truck was out of service at the time, so the Woodstock Public Works Department provided a cherry picker bucket truck so rescuers could return the man to the ground.
The district rescued the man and took him to a landing zone, where Flight for Life took him to an unknown hospital for injuries that were not considered life-threatening, Parker said.
Parker said the worker was not the resident of the home, but Parker did not know what company the man was with or his relation to the residents.
