BERWYN – The search continues for Berwyn's best burrito, as the field of 13 restaurants has narrowed to five.
The five remaining establishments competing for the distinction of being "Berwyn's Best" are:
• Lalo’s Restaurant, 3011 S. Harlem Ave., with its al pastor burrito (flour tortilla filled with beans, lettuce, tomato, cheese and seasoned pork with pineapples)
• Los Corrales Taqueria & Restaurant, 6713 W. 26th St., with its steak burrito (flour tortilla filled with beans, lettuce, tomato, cheese, sour cream and steak)
• Tacos Y Salsa, 6346 W. 26th St., with its al pastor burrito (flour tortilla filled with beans, lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, sour cream and seasoned pork with pineapples)
• Taqueria El Meson Express, 6831 W. Ogden Ave., with its el alambre burrito (flour tortilla filled with beans, lettuce, tomato, cheese, bacon, green peppers and steak)
• Zacatacos – Cermak, 6212 W. Cermak Road, with its steak burrito (flour tortilla filled with beans, lettuce, tomato, cheese, sour cream and steak).
The first round of voting involved a public poll in which voters could vote for as many as five of their favorite burrito-serving restaurants from the 13 competing. The second round again will include a public poll, but this time it will be coupled with a single taste test by a panel of judges.
The online poll at bit.ly/BerwynsBestBurrito17Round2 will be available until 5 p.m. Aug. 31.
