Elmhurst lawyer charged with possessing child pornography

ELMHURST – Bond has been set at $75,000 for an Elmhurst lawyer charged with possessing child pornography, according to a news release from the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office.

Ralph Tellefsen, 62, of the 100 block of Berkley Avenue, was charged with seven counts of possession of child pornography, a class 2 felony, the release stated.

An employee at Tellefsen’s law firm reported to police Aug. 27 that she allegedly had found images depicting child pornography on the printer at the office, according to the release. When officers arrived, they allegedly found a banker’s box containing thousands of images of child pornography.

Tellefsen was present at the time, and he was taken into custody. He appeared in bond court Aug. 28 in front of Judge Joseph Bugos.

His next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 18 in front of Judge John Kinsella. If Tellefsen posts bond, he is not allowed to have contact with children younger than 18 or computer or internet access, the release stated.

“The sheer number of child pornography images allegedly possessed by Mr. Tellefsen is nauseating,” Berlin said in the release. “Each one of these disgusting photographs represents yet another innocent victim of child pornography. The filing of today’s charges against Mr. Tellefsen sends the message that my office will move swiftly and vigorously to prosecute any allegations of child pornography."
