Yorkville Legion to serve as a movie set

A film production company, ACA Productions, is scheduled to film a patriotic film titled "Sam's Firecrackers" at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, at the Yorkville American Legion Post 489 on Route 34 just west of McHugh Road.

The production company plans to donate 10 percent of the proceeds from the film to be shared between the VFW and the American Legion.

Extras – especially veterans – are invited to participate in the film. The company asks that those seeking to serve as extras not to wear clothing with logos.

The film is a story about a wounded Iraq war veteran and his son who must overcome huge obstacles in order to restore their relationship, and for the son to understand what a hero his father truly is. ACA's goal is to raise patriotism among the younger generation who often take freedom for granted, forgetting that freedom is not free.

Aelita Archbold, founder of ACA Productions, is grateful to Commander Conrardy for providing the location at the American Legion Hall for filming purposes, Rivenmaster for their PR services and all private supporters for their support.

Local businesses and private individuals are invited to support this patriotic project.

For contributions and sponsorship opportunities call 630-800-6641. For information, visit the ACA website at acaproductions.net/firecracker.
