Delnor adds pediatric rehab clinic in Geneva

GENEVA – Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital in Geneva has opened a new pediatric outpatient rehabilitation clinic to offer physical therapy and speech therapy for newborns to young adults, the hospital announced in a news release.

Kane County children who may experience a delay in normal growth and development will now be able to receive a wide spectrum of rehabilitation services closer to home, the release stated.

The clinic will provide rehabilitation services for children who experience delays as a result of illness, injuries, birth defects or other conditions, the release stated.

These are services that require frequent visits, so having them available in Geneva will be more of a convenience, the release stated.

The new 3,000-square-foot clinic, located on the lower level of 302 Randall Road – the medical office building at Delnor – was built specifically for children and features colorful pediatric equipment, child-sized amenities, aquatic artwork and vibrant lighting, the release stated.

Physical therapy treatment programs are designed to help children achieve developmental milestones, restore functions, improve mobility, increase strength and relieve pain, the release stated.

Speech therapy assists children having difficulty communicating, understanding and using language, the release stated.

With a focus on activities for daily living, visual processing and sensory processing, occupational therapy helps children reach their optimal level of independence, the release stated.

Occupational therapy is expected to be available at the Delnor location later this year, the release stated.
