A Morris man allegedly exposed himself to two women in Joliet and was later found in a car with a teen while his pants were unzipped, police said.
Brent Gerardy, 28, of the 800 block of Liberty Street, was arrested by Joliet police Wednesday on a charge of public indecency. He was released on his own recognizance.
At 10 a.m. Wednesday, Gerardy allegedly drove to Sam’s Club, 321 S. Larkin Ave., and asked a 29-year-old woman in the parking lot where she was from because she had a Tennessee license plate, Joliet Deputy Police Chief Ed Gregory said.
Gerardy reportedly drove off but then came back and pulled up next to her. The woman told police when she looked inside Gerardy’s car, he exposed his genitals to her, Gregory said. She reportedly ran into Sam’s Club and contacted police.
The woman described Gerardy to police as a skinny white man in his 30s with short brown hair, and said he was driving a silver Nissan with tinted windows. Officers reviewed parking lot surveillance footage of the incident.
Gregory said that within the same hour Wednesday morning, police received a call about a man exposing himself to a 32-year-old woman who was walking her dog in the 900 block of Dawes Avenue.
Gerardy was allegedly in the area and asked the woman for directions, but when she moved closer to his car, she saw he was exposing himself to her. Gerardy fled the area, but the woman was able to get
his license plates.
She reportedly described Gerardy as a white male in his 30s with short blonde hair and driving the same car that was seen at Sam’s Club earlier.
Gregory said both women were able to identify Gerardy when he was arrested.
Police attempted to locate Gerardy’s car and found it in the 100 block of South Des Plaines Street. When they stopped the vehicle, officers saw Gerardy with an 18-year-old, Gregory said.
The young woman said nothing happened between them and that Gerardy offered her a ride because the weather was hot, Gregory said. Officers noticed his zipper was undone and that his shirt was covering his exposed area, he said.
Gerardy was found guilty of disorderly conduct in 2012 and fined $895.
He was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia in 2009 by the Channahon police. The charges were dropped in 2010.
