Margaret ‘Maggie’ Judge

ROLLING MEADOWS — Margaret “Maggie” Lorraine Judge passed away with family and friends at her bedside at 8:57 p.m. Sunday, June 25, 2017. She was 25 years of age.

Maggie was born June 25, 1992, in Chicago to the late Tony J. Judge Jr. of Chicago and Beverly (McCullough) Judge of Princeton.

Maggie suffered with health problems from early on in her life. At the age of 21 she was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlose Syndrome Type III, most people know it as EDS, which is a rare genetic mutation as well as a newly discovered syndrome known as Loeys-Dietz.

Maggie graduated in 2010 at ENH, a private day school that fosters growth for gifted teens. She attended the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in Chicago, majoring in Marine Biology. Maggie was also a free-lance model whose first publication was in the magazine "Masks.” Her portfolio was primarily shot by photographers David Shinobi of Miami, Fla., and Tommy and Varla Roberson of modeling agency "MySteamPunkArmy.”

Maggie's hobbies were photography, art and music, and she played the clarinet, saxophone and guitar. Her favorite animal was the whale shark. She was an alchemist and was very spiritual because she was an empath. She loved her dogs, Lulu, Elzy and Reggie, and her cat, PeeWee.

Maggie is survived by her mother, Beverly Judge, and Beverly’s longtime companion, Mark Havel; her loving brother Ryan Fowler and Carson Havel, both of Rolling Meadows; her grandfather, Tony Judge Sr,; aunts Arlene Christopher (Frank Maritote) and Karen (Bill) Owens; cousins Tim, Laura, Lindsey, Bill and Michael, and their children, all of the Chicago area; her grandmother, Julia McCullough of Galesburg; aunts/uncles Susan (Bob) McCauley Geneva, Bill (Sheila) McCullough of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Diana McCullough, Denise (Dennis) Morris and Mary McCullough, all of Princeton, Ryan (Michele) McCullough of Madison, S.D., Cory (LeAnne) McCullough of Ridge Crest, Calif., and Matt McCullough of Collinsville; cousins Tasha (Steve) Rostas of Florida, Brandon (Nichole) McCullough of Iowa, Andrea (Jeff) Gertsen of Illinois, Courtney (Mike) Denk of Texas, Dylan Morris of Illinois, Meriah Cruz of Illinois, Colby Cruz of Illinois, Christian McCullough of South Dakota, Brittney McCullough of California, Austin McCullough of California and Molly McCullough of California; as well as numerous great-uncles, great-aunts, second cousins and very close friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Tony Judge Jr.; her paternal grandmother, Lola Judge; her maternal grandfather, Elmer McCullough; and her uncle, Alan McCullough, whom she shared a very special bond with.

Family and friends who loved her dearly have found solace through the sadness and acceptance that Maggie now is at peace and without pain. Maggie’s wishes were to be cremated and her ashes will be interred into a coral reef project in Southern California, as her dream was to be a marine biologist. She has always stated that her soul belonged in heaven, but her physical essence belonged to the sea.

A celebration of Maggie’s life will be held at the Park Tavern in Princeton on Sunday, July 9, starting at noon. Family and friends are invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the family of Beverly Judge.

The Norberg Memorial Home in Princeton is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.norbergfh.com.
