POLO – Bruce E. Knipple, 87, of Polo, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017, at Heritage Square in Dixon.
Bruce was born May 19, 1929, in Polo, the son of Garnet and Helen (Adams) Knipple. On July 16, 1948, in Polo, he was united in marriage to Jaqueline Draper. She preceded him on Oct. 5, 2004. Bruce was a veteran of the Army National Guard. He was a longtime member of Rock River Motorcycle Club, AMA Organization, St. Mark Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 83, Shriners Club, and Dixon Moose Lodge 727.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon (Jim) Van Oosten of Dixon; son, Gary (Edith) Knipple of Polo; five grandchildren, Andy (Cori) Van Oosten, Dawn (Brady) Davis, Kenny (Jenni) Yingling, Heath (Jessica) Knipple, and Tom (Anna) Knipple; and seven great-grandchildren, Jessica, Kennedy, Abby, Nathaniel, Paige, Abby, and Kate.
He also was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Knipple.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday, and the funeral at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Polo, with Pastor Terrie Wilder officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon, with a lunch to follow.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his name.
