WHEATON – Wheaton College has filed an application to sell and transfer its radio station license to Educational Media Foundation, according to a news release from the college. The foundation is the parent company for the K-LOVE Radio and Air1 Radio Networks.

Educational Media Foundation will operate the station with new call letters upon approval of the application by the Federal Communications Commission. Wheaton College's radio station, WETN, began broadcasting as an AM station in 1947 and switched to 88.1 FM in 1962.

The 250-watt radio station broadcast most recently from its location in the lower level of the Billy Graham Center on the campus of Wheaton College. The college made the station available for sale in light of the advance of digital technology and a shift to updated formats, according to the release.

Wheaton College continues to live stream chapel services at 10:40 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays via wheaton.edu/chapel. The college also offers live web streams of conservatory concerts and occasional academic events.

The sales process will take place over the next few months, the release stated.
