MORRIS – Board certified cardiologist Dr. G. Steinar Gudmundsson has joined Morris Hospital Cardiovascular Specialists. Offices are in Channahon, Dwight, Morris and Ottawa.

A cardiologist in northern Illinois for more than 13 years and a native of Iceland, Gudmundsson attended medical school at the University of Iceland in Reykjavik. He completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, followed by fellowships in general cardiology, nuclear cardiology, heart failure and transplantation at Loyola University Medical Center. He is board certified in cardiovascular diseases and adult comprehensive echocardiography.

Gudmundsson has expertise in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of heart disease, blood pressure management, heart failure, circulation problems of the lower extremity, and cholesterol management.
