4-H’ers compete at Lee County Fair

Lee County 4-H teams competed in a food challenge July 31 at the Lee County Fair in Amboy. They had to use eggs and potatoes and at the fair, received additional "secret" ingredients to be used create their dish. They had 40 minutes to make a healthy and nutritious using the secret ingredients and food available to them in a pantry. The food challenge is a part of the Illinois Food Challenge, a Special Interest club that encourages students to learn how to create nutritious and meals from what they have in their home pantry. The special interest groups come together at the end of their training to compete in the food challenge competition.
