WOODSTOCK – First Assistant State's Attorney Donna Kathryn Kelly is resigning from her position to pursue a new opportunity, the McHenry County State's Attorney's Office announced.
Kelly was first hired as an assistant state’s attorney in August 2005. In 2008, she moved on to supervising assistant state’s attorney. Kelly joined a private practice in October 2009, but returned to the state’s attorney’s office in July 2011 as chief of the Civil Division.
“Her high level of legal skill, professionalism and ethics will greatly be missed by the office,” according to a statement.
Kelly’s resignation is effective Thursday, according to a news release. An announcement regarding Kelly’s successor will be made next week.
