PRINCETON — The Tiger Tennis Classic doubles action was held July 23 at Princeton High School’s tennis courts.

In mixed doubles, Beth Peacock of Princeton and Jon Dietrich of Princeton won 11-9 over Anna McDermott of Bloomington and Patrick Gornick of Dunlap. Sarah Maynard of Bloomington and Jason Engelhart of Bloomington won the consolation title, 10-2.

In men’s doubles, Max Moskalawicz of LaSalle and Aaron Pelican of LaSalle beat Bruce Hilsgen of LaSalle and Andy Sickley of LaSalle-Peru, 6-4 6-3. Steve Jackson of Coal City and Matt Leman of Coal City won the consolation title, 11-9.

In men’s over 40, Lee Miller of Tiskilwa and Jeff Trobaugh of Bradford defeated Kevin Cavanaugh of Ottawa and Steve Johnson of Ottawa. The doubles teams of Tom Bogner of Princeton and Don Evans of Princeton tied with Scott Dunseth of Stillman Valley and Mike Lee of Stillman Valley.

In women’s doubles, Allison Vargo of Ottawa and Ashley Ainsley of Streator defeated Sarah Peterson of Princeton and Ashley Bickett of Princeton, 6-3, 6-2.

In boys 17 and under, Daniel Ferguson of Dixon and Jonathan Rivera of Dixon won 9-8 (8-6) over Hunter Koehler of Streator and Justin Ainsley of Streator. The consolation title went to Trent Sula of Coal City and Colin Balzuweit of Coal City, 11-9.

In boys 15 and under, Liam Duffin of Princeton and Cole Reynolds of Princeton defeated Michael Kramer of Princeton and Daniel Naffziger of Princeton, 6-7 (7-3) 6-0 10-2.

In girls 16 and under, Natalie Tabor of Ottawa and Bergen Johnson of Ottawa defeated Allison Blocki of Princeton and Ali Borys of Princeton, 10-4. The consolation title was won by Julia Hochstatter of Princeton and Hallie Taets of Princeton, 8-3.

The singles portion of the Tiger Tennis Classic will be held Saturday, July 30.
