MACOMB — Dennis D. "Denny" Morse, 68, of Macomb passed away at 4:18 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2016, at University Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.
He was born on June 11, 1948, in Wyanet to Wendell and Frances Simon Morse.
Denny lived most of his life in the Macomb area. He was an avid sports fan of Leatherneck football and the Dallas Cowboys, and loved playing golf and cruises. He worked as a carpenter for Rector’s in Macomb. He was a Navy veteran, serving from 1968 to 1972.
He is survived by his significant other and loving partner, Billie Ferris of Macomb; one brother, Larry (Pat) Morse of Orion; one sister, Linda Willis of Peoria; six nieces; six nephews; three great-nieces with one great-niece to arrive in November; and 11 great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 21, at the Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb with the Rev. Gordon Blankenship officiating. The family requests casual dress for the funeral in honor of Denny. Cremation rites will follow the service.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, July 21, at the funeral home.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to Hines-Fisher House or the McDonough County Humane Society.
