On June 9, the DeKalb County TRIAD donated a motorized wheelchair to a disabled person in need.
The DeKalb County TRIAD Team is a partnership comprised of law enforcement, community groups and senior citizens. Its mission is to improve the quality of life for older adults in DeKalb County. TRIAD empowers senior citizens to become more involved in community activities including crime prevention, educational seminars, and other programs to make the community a safer place.
TRIAD is comprised of several agencies dedicated to preserving the quality of life for older adults, including Elder Care Services, Voluntary Action Center, Family Service Agency, Housing Authority of the County of DeKalb, Catholic Charities, Barb City Manor, Kishwaukee Hospital, Home Instead, First National Bank, DeKalb Township, Sycamore Police Department, Sandwich Police Department and DeKalb Police Department.
TRIAD meets monthly at various locations within the county. Any community groups interested in joining TRIAD can contact Officer Kelly Sullivan at the DeKalb Police Department.
