Two people hurt Sunday in two-vehicle crash
OGLE COUNTY – Two people suffered non-life-threatening injuries Friday in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of German Church and Brick roads.
Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies and Oregon fire and emergency personnel responded at 5:30 p.m. A tractor driven by William G. Luepkes, 79, of Oregon, was northbound on German Church Road when he turned west onto Brick Road, and collided with a vehicle behind the tractor.
An occupant in the second vehicle, Larry D. Schnorr, 69, of Pecatonica was uninjured, but a second occupant, Michele D. Schnorr, 64, also of Pecatonica, was taken by Oregon EMS to SwedishAmerican Hospital in Rockford, where his condition was unavailable Monday. Luepkes was given a citation for improper turn.
Driver, child hurt in two-vehicle crash
OGLE COUNTY – Two people suffered injuries June 6 in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 39.
State troopers responded at 2:22 p.m. A semitractor-trailer driven by Steven G. Kamysiak, 33, of Kent City, Michigan, was southbound on Interstate 39 when Kamysiak slowed as he approached stopped vehicles. A semitractor driven by Robert S. Meeks, 51, of Titusville, failed to slow in time, and struck the rear of Kamysiak’s vehicle.
Meeks and a 9-year-old boy in his vehicle suffered injuries and were taken to OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. Meeks was treated and released. The boy’s condition was unavailable Monday. Kamysiak was unhurt.
Meeks was given citations for following too closely, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and transportation of an unauthorized person.
