OGLESBY — Illinois Valley Community College employees participated in the Walk Across America virtual walk where participants track the number of steps they have walked, jogged or ran in six weeks.

IVCC’s 26 participants logged a total 5,790,129 steps or 2,895 miles which is the virtual distance of walking from IVCC to San Francisco, Calif., and just past Flagstaff, Ariz., back toward home.

The group celebrated the feat with an ice cream sundae bar and the Top 3 finishes were awarded prizes. The first-place winner was Gina Czubachowski; second place was Jill Urban Bollis; and third place went to Dawn Watson.

Random prizes were awarded to Kim Herout, FitBit Alta donated by Target; Heather Crawley, HyVee gift card; Dawn Watson, Country Catering gift card; and Julie Hogue, IVCC shirt.

Human Resources Director Glenna Jones said, “We’re proud of the team for fitting fitness into their daily routine.”
