MOKENA – On June 1, Ray’s Collision Centers in Mokena will become Crash Champions, joining the company’s other locations in Chicago, Crestwood, New Lenox and Plainfield.
“Adding Mokena to our collision repair service centers was a smart move for both Ray and myself,” Matt Ebert, owner of Crash Champions, said in a news release. “Ray and I have been business partners for many years, which makes this acquisition even better. For more than 25 years, Ray has been working hard and has been very successful to have built this solid foundation, and when he was looking to slow down and semi retire, buying his Mokena location was the smart thing to do.”
Ray Zarack, owner of RCC, said he has reached an age where he wants to enjoy life with family and friends.
“I’m going to continue to support both my Wilmington and Manhattan locations, just take a little more time off, and selling to my past partner Matt seems like the smart and logical thing to do,” he said in the news release. “ ... I trust Matt, I know his work ethic and his desire to exceed our customers’ expectations, so this acquisition, although the name will change, the great service we provide will still be top priority. There will be no change in management and Crash Champions will continue to provide the same products and fine service on which we have built our reputation in the industry and community.”
Tim Hetfliesch, manager of RCC for more than 15 years, believes the change will be good for everyone.
“Matt is a solid businessman and one we can all trust, not only the employees at RCC, but also the past, present and future customers,” he said. “ … I’m excited to see my future at Crash Champions and look forward to continuing to service the good people of Will County.”
Ebert said Will County has been good to “us and we will continue to be good to them.” Ray’s Collision Centers has a solid foundation in Mokena, which the company plans to foster and grow.
“We encourage customers to call or stop by if they have any questions. Our open-door policy keeps us connected to our community and we enjoy having them be a part of our extended team,” Ebert said.
Crash Champions will be updating its social media pages to keep the community updated.
