Net-Working It! with the Batavia Chamber

Speed networking event to take place April 20

BATAVIA – Sometimes you just have to try something new.

The Batavia Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a speed networking event from 4 to 6 p.m. April 20 at Water Street Studios. The evening will revolve around a networking game, a first for the chamber’s monthly Net-Working It! program, which aims to give attendees the chance to meet and exchange business cards with everyone in attendance. Participants should bring at least 50 business card to the free event.

“This event is designed so you will meet every single person in attendance and go home with their business card, and they will have yours,” said Lindsey Williams, the chamber’s marketing and special events coordinator. “During your brief introduction, you will be able to let that person know who you are, what you do and [what] your ideal referral would be.”

Williams said the idea stemmed from the West Suburban Chamber of Commerce executives group, and she expects anywhere from 35 to 50 in attendance.

The event will feature a taco bar, sponsored by PRIDE Stores Inc. and Taco Urbano.

“These events are not just for chamber members – we encourage others to join us and see what the Batavia Chamber is all about,” Williams said. “Our target is really anyone who would like to expand their business reach and network with others in and outside of their industry.”

Water Street Studios is at 160 S. Water St. in Batavia.
