Allison Kelm

ELWOOD, Ind. — Allison Kay Kelm, 38, of Elwood, Ind., passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood, Ind.

Allison was born July 29, 1977, in Princeton to Michael Kelm and Sharon (Nanninga) Snipes. Allison loved to sing and dance, and she enjoyed going to concerts. She was known for her kindness, sincerity, warmth and generosity of spirit. She had a beautiful smile, her sense of humor and her infectious laugh were irresistible. Allison touched many lives in her supportive and loving way, and so she had many, many friends, both old and new. She had a special ability to make everyone feel special, and she will live long in the memories of those who knew her as being truly beautiful, both inside and out. She was a wonderful, loving and caring mother. There was nothing more important to Allison than her beautiful daughter, Lainey. Lainey was truly the light of her life, her pride and joy, and Allison lived her life as an example of kindheartedness and affection for her.

Allison was employed by the Indiana BMV, where she excelled and was recently appointed project manager. She received her associate degree from Sauk Valley Community College in Dixon and her bachelor's degree from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Ind.

Allison is survived by her loving daughter, Lainey; her mother, Sharon Snipes of Elwood, Ind.; her father, Michael (Colleen Cox) Kelm of LaMoille; two sisters, Candace Maupin of Frankton, Ind., and Pamela (Paul) LeBarron of Rock Falls; two brothers, Dane (Kelly) Maupin of Annawan and Christopher Kelm of Prophetstown; two stepsisters, Carrie Johnson and Melissa (Scott) Dennis; one stepbrother, Chad Snipes; three grandmothers, Elaine Kelm of Sheffield, Barbara Snipes of Elwood, Ind., and Dorris Cox of Sterling; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Allison was preceded in death by her grandfather, William A. Kelm Jr.; her stepfather, Gary Snipes; her grandmother, Bonnie Burgess; and her stepgrandfathers, Fred Snipes and Myron Cox.

A celebration of life service will be at 6 p.m. Friday, March 11, at the Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 S. Anderson St., Elwood, Ind., with the Rev. Roger Gardner of the East Main Street Christian Church officiating.

Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, March 10, at the funeral home.
